MAINE COON
One of the
oldest natural breeds in North America, they are distinguished by their large
size, rectangular appearance
and flowing double-layered coat. Many
colour combinations are accepted but type, size and coat quality are more
important. The Maine Coon evolved as a working domesticated cat in a rural
environment, reflected in a muscular cat of rugged outdoor appearance with a
weatherproof coat and the demeanour of an alert capable hunter. Their laid-back
good nature and many endearing traits, including the habit of "chirruping" to human companions, makes them idea family pets.
Grooming is easy and only necessary once a week.
